Facts on Online Games




1. Island Kesmai, launched in 1984 was the first paid online browser game. During that time, people paid almost $10 per hour to play the game.

2. Do you know that Mario was actually named after Mr Mario Segale who was the landlord of Nintendo’s first warehouse? The actual name of Mario was Mr Video Game which ultimately became Mario.

3. Do you know that the first ever online game was actually a text-based adventure game? In 1978, two students of the Essex University Roy Trubshaw and Richard Bartle created Multi-User Dungeon or MUD. During their free time, they programmed the game. MUD is said to be the predecessor of multiplayer online games that you play today.
